“Gacha Gacha” is a small vending machine which sells toys. When you put in coins and turn the crank, a product in the capsule pops out with the sound “Gacha Gacha” into the receptacle.

Its official name is “capsule toy” but it is more commonly known as “Gacha Gacha” or “Gachapon” which are the trademark of toy maker.

In 1980’s, “Gacha Gacha” was mostly enjoyed by children as it can be seen from the time when erasers made in the shapes of the “Kinnikuman” (Professional wrestling anime series) became a big hit among children. However, more rare items appeared in the market later which eventually became popular among the adult fans, and now it is enjoyed by people in the different age.

“Gacha Gacha” machine is often seen in toy shops, supermarkets, electronics stores and sight-seeing spots.
