In Japan, canned soup is sold along with the canned tea and coffee. It is not required to cook canned soup, thus it can be enjoyed right after its purchase in vending machine or convenience store.

Especially corn pottage soup is a regular product among the canned soup and various beverage companies compete in order to create the better taste. Also other types of soup products that are being sold in the market are clear soup, tomato soup, miso soup and red soup which is a traditional Japanese soup made from Azuki beens.

Although the most of canned soup products are sold as hot in vending machine and convenience store, there are also cold soup products that are available for the summer season in recent years such as vichyssoise and corn soup.
